Description

Vector Equilibrium - the cuboctahedron is an exceptional solid, where all force vectors balance out, creating ideal equilibrium.

Its name comes from the fact that this solid can be obtained by cutting the vertices of both a cube or of an octahedron.

Pendant made of 925 sterling silver. Subjected to precise and time-consuming manual treatment. Faithfully reproduces all proportions of the original solid. Looks very good and can be comfortably worn on a long (65/70 cm) chain as a pendant.

 Height: ca. 25 mm

"The exceptional property of Buckminster Fuller's cuboctahedron (vector equilibrium) comes from the fact that it can be transformed according to a given formula and obtain an icosahedron, an octahedron and a cube, which are three of the five Platonic solids. Dan Winter in The Purpose of DNA"" plays with the toy shown in the animation, presenting the Jitterbug dance, e.g. the way a cuboctahedron can be transformed into an icosahedron, an octahedron and finally a cube."" "

Jitterbug, the Vector Equilibrium dance by Richard Buckminster Fuller. Jitterbug is the name of an acrobatic dance, and in our context it is just a metaphor describing the transformations within a cuboctahedron - the Vector Equilibrium.

"To sum up, the Jitterbug dance operates on the vectors of a cuboctahedron, which transform and reorganize into other systems (shapes, solids), and on the level of physical or chemical manifestation, give different physical and chemical properties. It can be related to the shapes of various chemical molecules, which thanks to these various shapes give us substances of various properties." In the end - and with a slight simplification - this is the world as viewed by the sacred geometry - QUALITATIVE DIFFERENCES which we observe in the world are a consequence of different shapes and proportions they include. The initial, homogenous substance of the Universe is organized according to geometric shapes, giving us a greatly varied world in which we live.
